The large solar system heavily damaged by a hail storm last June near Scottsbluff, damage that received national attention, is reported to be back online.

The Nebraska Public Power District recently announced that t he facility has been repaired, re-commissioned and back in operation.

“The storm that rolled through the Scottsbluff area in June that contained softball and baseball size hail was exceptionally intense,” Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) General Manager of Retail Pat Hanrahan said.

“The process to replace the panels and get it back online in a timely manner to serve the customers of Scottsbluff, is thanks to strong partnerships with Sol Systems and GenPro.”

The Scottsbluff Star-Herald reported the 4,375-megawatt AC community solar array was repaired by a 17-member crew.
