Crude oil prices and Oklahoma energy stocks gained on Thursday

Crude oil bounced up 3% in Thursday’s trading and Oklahoma energy stocks did the same with some firms recording gains stronger than 4% for the day. It was the highest close for crude oil prices since December, thanks to faster-than-expected growth in the last quarter plus increased tensions in the Red Sea.

West Texas Intermediate crude rose $2.27 or 3.02% per barrel and settled at $77.36 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude increased by $2.39 or 2.99% and finished at $82.43 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

February natural gas fell 7 cents to $2.57 per 1,000 cubic feet.

It was a strong day in trading for Oklahoma energy stocks, typified by the more than 4% gains reported by Empire Petroleum Corp. and NGL Energy Partners.

According to the Texas Energy Report, it was also a good day for other energy stocks.

Energy Transfer LP (ET) up 0.21 at 14.28 – change 1.49%

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) up 0.19 at 27.31 – change 0.70%

EOG Resources (EOG) up 2.76 at 114.85 – change 2.46%

Exxon Mobil (XOM) up 2.52 at 102.13 – change 2.54%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.44 at 17.32 – change 2.60%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.54 at 23.13 – change 2.39%

NOV Inc. (NOV) up 0.08 at 20.98 – change 0.38%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 0.70 at 58.01 – change 1.22%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 3.98 at 137.65 – change 2.97%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 5.31 at 228.27 – change 2.38%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) unchanged at 0.52 – change 0.00%

Valero (VLO) up 4.30 at 134.36 – change 3.31%
