Crude oil prices dropped 3% in Thursday’s trading and Oklahoma energy stocks suffered the same fate, this as more shipping companies indicated they will return to using the Red Sea route. Word of their plans eased concerns about supply disruptions in the Middle East.
West Texas Intermediate crude fell $2.34 or 3.2% to $71.77 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The 3% fall came after a 2% drop on Wednesday.
Brent crude settled down $2.39 or 3% to $77.15.
February natural gas rose 12 cents to $2.56 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Thursday proved to be a day of losses for many Oklahoma energy stocks with only a few exceptions.
