A federal judge in Wyoming, where Oklahoma oil and gas companies are busy exploring for new energy, sided with the oil and gas industry in a fight with two environmental groups.

The judge threw out a lawsuit filed by the Center for Biological Diversity and WildEarth Guardians against the Interior Department, the state of Wyoming and the Petroleum Association of Wyoming. The groups wanted to shut down nearly 900 permits issued for the Powder River Basin in the northeast part of the state.
