The gain of $1 a barrel for crude oil prices Wednesday didn’t help Oklahoma energy stocks much at all as they were mixed in trading.
The boost in crude prices came as investors await probable fresh supply cuts from OPEC+ and analyze the jump in U.S. crude stockpiles.
US benchmark, West Texas Intermediate gained $1.45 or 1.9% to finish at $77.86 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose $1.42 or 1.7% and settled at $83.10 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
January natural gas fell 4 cents to $2.80 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks had a mix of trading on Wednesday while Empire Petroleum had the largest gain of nearly 5%.
Others had a mixed day of trading, according to the Texas Energy Report.
