Crude oil and natural production expected to drop in Anadarko Basin

A new report shows new daily oil well production is expected to decline in the nation’s major oil plays in December, including the Andarko, Bakken, and Eagle Ford but increase slightly in the Permian Basin and the Niobrara.

The Anadarko Basin, which includes Oklahoma is expected to see a gain in the average daily well production but decline in the total production on a daily basis. The drop will be 396,000 barrels of oil a day in November to 392,000 barrels a day, according to a new report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Natural gas production is also expected to fall in December in the Andarko.

The Permian Basin, the nation’s biggest shale play, will see a small gain from 5,976,000 barrels a day in production to 5,981,000 barrels a day. Its natural gas production will also make gains in December, based on the EIA forecast.

The nation’s two biggest natural gas plays, Appalachia and the Haynesville, will see drops in their monthly production.
