The growing chain of Casey’s General Stores is entering north Texas where the company has acquired 22 Lone Star Food Stores.
With locations throughout Oklahoma, Casey’s announced the new holdings are within a 60-mile radius of Sherman, Texas. The transaction is expected to close by the end of November and Casey’s said it is retaining all of the employees at the stores.
The company is headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, a suburb of Des Moines. As of October 1, 2023, Casey’s had 2,500 stores in 16 states. Oklahoma is the site of 116 of the stores.
Darren Rebelez, President and Chief Executive Officer of Casey’s said the acquisition of the Lone Star convenience stores will serve as a springboard into Texas.
