Wyoming legislators are considering legislation to stand up in defiance of the Biden administration’s proposed plan to put 3.6 million acres of land in the state off-limits.
The Bureau of Land Management plan resulted in sizzling opposition among legislators who have drawn up their response in the form of legislation that would prohibit state and local authorities from aiding or cooperating in any way with the government “when they pursue policies which harm Wyoming’s core interests.”
A legislative committee recently voted unanimously to draft a bill to also create a new full-time position in the governor’s office to act as a “watchdog” protecting the state’s interest against federal overreach.
