Phillips 66 CEO defends company ties to Qatar

Mark Lashier, CEO of Phillips 66, speaks at the Chamber of Commerce form at City church on Tuesday.

The deadly and brutal attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel last weekend had Phillips 66 CEO Mark Lashier doing some quick defense of his company’s ties to Qatar.

The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise reported Lashier made his comments as guest speeaker at the Bartlesville Regional Chamber of Commerce forum.

“I’m not an expert on politics, but I would say Qatar tends to play a role more akin to what Switzerland does and tries to bring parties together to resolve things,” said Lashier. “I would hesitate to call the state of Qatar a supporter of Hamas.”

What prompted his comments was the statement made by Qatar in which the small Middle East country blamed Israel and said it was “solely responsible for the ongoing escalation.”
