Gasoline prices fall amidst fighting in Israel and Gaza

The war declared by Israel against Hamas sent crude oil prices up on Monday, but what about the impact on gasoline prices?

Some experts believe it will be minimal because Israel is not a major supplier of crude oil. So prices at the pump could continue to fall as they slid 14 cents a gallon in Oklahoma over the past week to reach an average of $3.39.

AAA reported the national average declined by 9 cents to $3.68 per gallon. Lawton had the lowest metropolitan average at $3.12 per gallon, down 18 cents from the previous week.

Prices in Oklahoma City dropped 15 cents to a new average this week of $3.35 per gallon. But some stations are pumping gas for less than $3 a gallon and at least one is down to $2.89.

Tulsa’s average fell the same amount and settled at $3.38.

Six counties in far southwest Oklahoma had the lowest prices in the state. Harmon County was lowest with an average of $3.09 per gallon and nearby counties of Jackson, Kiowa, Tillman, Comanche and Cotton had averages of $3.12 to $3.24 per gallon.

Coal County in the southeast was highest at $4.07 per gallon while Jefferson and Ellis Counties had averages of $3.89.
