The city of Jackson, Wyoming, known to tourists as Jackson Hole, has a problem as it has high hopes for a low-emission bus service.
It recently bought eight electric buses but non are running. The city made the purchases to replace diesel-run buses and finds itself relying on the diesel fleet.
The challenge rests with START, the Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit system which is a joint operation between Jackson and Teton County. It bought the buses from a California based company that later filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
