Congratulations to Rick Muncrief, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy, who was recently honored with the 2023 Texas Oil and Gas Association’s Distinguished Service Award. Often regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious honors in the oil and gas industry, TXOGA has bestowed this honor to the great ambassadors of an industry that profoundly impacts lives throughout the world.
Muncrief is also on the board of American Petroleum Institute, Inc., American Exploration & Production Council and Indian Nations Council-Boy Scouts of America as well as a Member of the Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce. Prior to his employment at Devon, Muncrief served as Senior VP-Operations & Resource Development at Continental Resources, Inc., Operations Manager-San Juan Basin Unit at ConocoPhillips and General Manager-Operations at Burlington Resources, Inc. (a subsidiary of ConocoPhillips), Manager for Resource Production Co., Chairman for Apco Oil & Gas International, Inc., Chairman & Chief Executive Officer for WPX Energy, Inc. and President, Chief Operating Officer & Director at Quest Midstream Partners LP. Muncrief received an undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University.
Muncrief was one of two distinguished honorees. Kelcy L. Warren, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for Texas-based Energy Transfer LP, was the other honoree.
Both will be recognized during TXOGA’s Lone Star Energy Forum on Monday, Nov. 13 in Bastrop, Texas.
