Oklahoma among few states with solar manufacturing plants

 

 

A new report shows Texas and Georgia lead the U.S. in the  number of new solar manufacturing plants following the passage of the IRA nearly a year ago.

Oklahoma is among the few states with only one solar project according to the report by PV Tech. Texas has six and Georgia has five plants. Overall, the U.S. solar industry added 2.7GW of capacity in the second quarter of the year according to the American Clean Power Association.

Oklahoma’s plant will be built in Inola where 3Sun USA, a subsidiary of Enel North American is building a $1 billion manufacturing facilityl for innovative, sustainable and American-made photovoltaic cells and modules. The 2 million square foot factory will have a capacity of 3 GW of solar panels a year.
