Merger fight to be heard by New Mexico Supreme Court

Efforts by Public Service Company of New Mexico to merge with Connecticut-based Avangrid will be heard in a few weeks by the New Mexico Supreme Court.

The state’s Public Regulation Commission rejected the proposed merger in December 2021 and the two utilities appealed the decision to the state Supreme Court. The case has sat there for more than a year and a half.

A hearing has finally been set for Sept. 15.
