Oklahoma doesn’t have as much public land leased to the oil and gas industry as New Mexico and western states, but the public land will be up for lease auctions in November.
The Bureau of Land Management has opened a public protest period for the proposed sale, a move to allow those opposed to the sales to file their opposition.
Only five parcels totaling 162 acres will be at stake in Oklahoma.
