U.S. crude oil prices jumped more than $2 a barrel in Thursday’s trading on hopes that OPEC+ production cuts will continue through the end of the year. Oklahoma energy stocks split on gains and losses.
West Texas Intermediate crude rose $2 or 2.45% to reach $83.63 a barrel at the end of the day on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose $1 or 1.16% to close at $86.86 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
October natural gas fell 3 cents to $2.77 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks split in Thursday’s trading with some recording moderate losses and others making gains for the day. Gulfport Energy managed a 3% gain while Matrix Service Inc. fell about the same amount.
