Friday brought a 1% gain for crude oil futures and Oklahoma energy stocks saw increases too.
US diesel prices soared while the number of oil rigs dropped nationally while a fire broke out at a Louisiana refinery.
US benchmark West Texas Intermediate finished up 78 cents or 1% to $79.83 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose $1.12 or 1.3% to $84.48 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Their gains came as diesel futures shot up 5% to a near seven-month high.
Natural gas closed up 0.02 at $2.54 – change 0.83%
Oklahoma energy stocks also made gains for the day including 3% increases for Devon Energy, Empire Petroleum and PHX Minerals.

ExxonMobil (XOM) up 1.90 at 108.25 – change 1.78%
