Texas congressman acts to defund John Kerry’s climate office

Chip Roy

Texas Congressman Chip Roy is taking a cue from those who sought and carried out some actual defunding of police forces around the country.

But he’s not targeting police. The Republican Representative introduced legislation to defund climate envoy John Kerry’s office at the State Department. And he received the support of 26 other Republicans in the House who share his belief that Kerry’s anti-energy policies are destroying the country’s oil and gas industry.

U.S. climate envoy John Kerry is greeted by top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi before a meeting Tuesday in Beijing, China.

They introduced the No Taxpayer Funding for Climate Zealots Advancing Radical Schemes Act which would prohibit any federal funds — including for salary, administrative, and travel expenses — from being appropriated for Kerry’s office.
