Lingering effects of 2021 winter storm felt by dozens of Kansas towns and cities

The 2021 Winter Storm Yuri is still on the minds of dozens of cities and towns in Kansas because they still owe millions of dollars in  exorbitant gas bills from utility providers.

More than 50 cities and one municipal energy agency have asked for help from the City Utility Low-Interest Loan Program created by the state legislature. The program allows up to $100 million to be loaned to the cities who have up to 10 years to repay, reported KSNT TV news.
