Most Oklahoma energy stocks traded higher on Wednesday while oil prices edged lower after investors took profits on earlier gains on tighter U.S. crude supplies.
West Texas Intermediate crude fell 40 cents to $75.35 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, dropped 17 cents a barrel and settled at $79.46 on ICE Futures Europe. Drops for both came after theyeach had risen by more than $1 a barrel earlier in the session.
August natural gas fell 3 cents to $2.60 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It was a much stronger day in trading for Oklahoma energy stocks as some recorded gains of 4% or stronger.
Other energy stocks also recorded gains for the day, according to the Texas Energy Report.
