Colorado becomes first state to tie pollution reduction to oil and gas production

The state of Colorado proposed another rule targeting the oil and gas industry in the state.

It now wants to reduce pollution with what is described as a “first-in-the-nation” program tying air emission reductions to the amount of oil and gas produced. The state’ Air Quality Control Commission has finished creation of steps to measure and monitor emissions following the 2021 approval of the rule according to the Colorado Sun.
