Cheniere inks long-term LNG contract with Chinese firm

Natural gas from Oklahoma’s STACK and SCOOP plays is likely headed to China over a long-term contract Cheniere Energy just signed.

Cheniere, with a major gas line from the STACK stretching to the Gulf Coast, is the largest producer of LNG in the U.S. and signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement with China’s ENN Energy Holdings.

OilPrice.Com reported that ENN will purchase ~1.8M metric tons/year of LNG on a free-on-board basis at Henry Hub prices for a 20-year term, with deliveries to commence mid-2026 ramping up to 0.9 million tonne per annum (mtpa) in 2027.

Natural gas from Oklahoma is through the Midship pipeline which stretches 200 miles south from Kingfisher. It was put into operation in 2020.
