Utility overcharged some New Mexico customers by nearly $2 million

State regulators in New Mexico have determined the Texas utility, El Paso Electric, overcharged some of its customers by $1.9 million in the past few years.

The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission ruled the utility had undercharged some of its largest customers but made others pay higher rates reported Source New Mexico.

Officials in Las Cruces argue the utility owes more than $1.19 million for overcharging people.
