Big 5-well project for Continental Resource in Garvin County

Continental Resources filed reports this week showing a recent completion of a 5-well single pad drilling project in Garvin County that produced more than 3,300 barrels of oil a day. The company also filed amended reports on three Grady County wells, changing their classification to gas production.

The biggest project was the drilling of the five Speyside wells at 19 1N 1W or a few miles north of the town of Hennepin in Garvin County. The Speyside 6-19-20xhm was the largest producer with 1,416 barrels of oil a day and 1,612 Mcf of natural gas from the Sycamore formation. Completed in February 2023, the well had a drilled depth of 21,260 feet and a true vertical depth of 12,597 feet. It was spud in October 2022 according to the completion report.

The Speyside 4-19-20xhm, with a drilled depth of 20,880 feet, produced 966 barrels of oil a day and 1,129 Mcf of natural gas. The completion report showed a true vertical depth of 12,592 feet following a spud in July 2022.

The Speyside 2-19-20xhw produced 243 barrels of oil a day and 347 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 21,883 feet in the Woodford formation. The true vertical depth was 12,730 feet and the completion report showed a spud in June of 2022.

The Speyside 3-19-20xhw, spud in August 2022, produced 375 barrels of oil a day and 1,894 Mcf of natural gas from the Woodford formation. Drilled depth was 21,067 feet and the completion report showed the true vertical depth was 12,710 feet. The well was spud in August 2022.

The fifth well, the Speyside 5-19-20xhw, had production of 326 barrels of oil a day and 517 Mcf of natural gas when completed in the Woodford with a drilled depth of 21,605 feet and a true vertical depth of 12,936 feet. The completion report showed the well was spud in October of 2022.

Combined production from the five wells was 3,326 barrels of oil a day.

Continental also filed amended completion reports on three Grady County wells, changing their classification to gas production.

Two of the three Silver Stratton wells were drilled on the same pad at 7 4N 5W, a site a few miles south of the town of Alex. Both produced in the Woodford formation.

The Silver Stratton 5-7-6-31xhw, the largest producer with 399 barrels of oil a day and 6,474 Mcf of natural gas, was completed in April 2022.

The Silver Stratton 6-7-6xhw produced 204 barrels of oil a day and 3,181 Mcf of natural gas according to the completion report.

Continental also amended the classification of the third well, the Silver Stratton 4-6-31-30xhw to gas. It had production of 488 barrels of oil a day and 7,547 Mcf of natural gas when completed in April 2022 at 6 4N 5W, adjacent to the two wells drilled on the single pad.

A new Grady County well was reported by EOG Resources Inc. The Galaxy 2536 6h, completed in March 2023 is located at 24 10N 5W, a site south of the South Canadian River and southwest of Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport. It produced 464 barrels of oil a day and 301 Mcf of natural gas from the Woodford formation.

Drilled depth was 18,952 feet and the true vertical depth was 8,906 feet according to the completion report.

Devon Energy filed a report on a Blaine County well which had production of 739 barrels of oil a day along with 10,984 Mcf of natural gas. The Hornet 9_16-14n-12w 2hx is located at 4 14N 12W , a site about 6 miles west of the community of Greenfield.

Completed in February 2023 in the Mississippian Lime formation, the well had a drilled depth of 23,041 feet while the true vertical depth, according to the completion report, was 12,730 feet. The well was spud in July 2022.
