Crude oil prices went up 2% in Monday’s trading but Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses for the day, even after U.S. recession fears faded.
West Texas Intermediate crude gained $1.82 per barrel or 2.6% to finish at $73.16 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose $1.71 or 2.3% to close at $77.01 on ICE Futures Europe.
Natural gas went up 10 cents or 4.73% to close at $2.24.
It was a weak day of trading for most Oklahoma energy stocks as some fell 4%, with a few exceptions such as the 9% gain recorded by LSB Industries and the 2% increase for Unit Corporation.
Many other energy stocks were down according to the Texas Energy Report.
