Oklahoma energy stocks scored strong gains in Tuesday’s trading while oil prices settled lower nearly $1 a barrel. Concern about more interest rate hikes were the problem as investors think they would slow demand.
West Texas Intermediate crude fell 94 cents or 0.1% to $79.74 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude settled down 96 cents a barrel or 0.2% and closed at $84.58 on ICE Futures Europe.
May natural gas rose 16 cents to $2.17 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks had strong performances Monday with Gulfport Energy recording a 5% gain for the day followed by 3% increases for Chesapeake Energy, Coterra Energy, NGL Energy Partners, Unit Corp., Vital Energy and Williams.
