A nearly 2% gain was recorded Tuesday for crude oil prices while Oklahoma energy stocks were mixed. Analysts credited the oil price gain on hopes the Federal Reserve might ease its rate hikes.
Some analysts think investors were more optimistic the Fed might bring an end to its rate hikes.
West Texas Intermediate crude went up 2.2% on a $1.79 a-barrel-increase to $81.53 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude increased 1.7% or $1.43 a barrel to $85.61 on ICE Futures Europe.
May natural gas rose 1 cent to $2.19 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks were mixed in Tuesday’s trading but some, such as Mammoth Energy recorded a more than 6% gain.
