The administration’s taking aim at incandescent light bulbs and under rules finalized by the Department of Energy, they will be prohibited from being sold by retailers. Get ready for the ban to take effect on Aug. 1 of this year according to Fox News.
The Energy Department started warning companies months ago of the coming ban and effort to move away from the light bulb type. The department contends the ban will save consumers nearly $3 billion a year on utility bills and also cut carbon emissions by 222 million metric tons over the next 30 years.
