Colorado politicians try to reverse oil train decision

The Uinta Basin Railway: a fossil fuel disaster – Colorado River Connected

The fight by some Colorado residents and politicians is heating up against a planned railway service to transport crude oil out of Utah and through Colorado.

Some members of the state’s congressional delegation are opposed to the Uinta Basin Railway, an 88-mile railroad to collect the oil fields of the Unita Basin with the national rail network. The proposal calls for the movement of an estimated 350,000 barrels of oil to be transported on three to 10 daily trains along the Colorado River from Grand Junction to Kremmling reported The Colorado Sun.
