Oklahoma Representatives voted to kill Labor Department’s ESG rule

Neutral' ESG rule draws GOP fire in court and Congress – InsuranceNewsNet

All five members of the Oklahoma delegation in the U.S. House voted this week in support of a bill to kill the Biden administration’s ESG rule, one that encourages private retirement plan fiduciaries to consider environment, social and governance factors.

Reps Bice, Brecheen, Cole, Hern and Lucas were among the 216 House members who cast their ballots in support of the measure that critics contend is another Biden push to inject “woke” ideology in all aspects of government. It’s similar to the new state Energy Discrimination Elimination law in Oklahoma that bans efforts of some investment firms to offer financial assistance for oil and gas companies.

Lawmakers contend the Department of Labor ESG rule “politicizes” and “jeopardizes” the retirement savings of more than 152 million Americans reported Fox News.
