North Dakota’s oil and gas industry, the third largest in the nation, rebounded in January from the severe cold weather of December that shut down oil and gas production.

The state reported this week that production grew by 11% over the dismal December and no doubt thanks to the efforts of Oklahoma energy firms such as Continental Resources that are deeply involved in the state’s energy efforts reported the Star Tribune.

“January was a very good month,” Lynn Helms, North Dakota’s mineral resources director, said at a news conference Wednesday. “We all know what happened in December.
