Mewbourne reports more wells in Northwest Oklahoma

 

Mewbourne Oil Company added two more northwest Oklahoma wells to its list of completions in recent months in that region of the state.

The Texas company showed another Ellis County well, the Thelma 8/17 Dm 3h, drilled at 5 18N 24W, a site about 5 miles south of the town of Arnett. Two previous Mewbourne wells were located south and west of the town.

The Thelma produced 709 barrels of oil a day and 1, 330 Mcf of natural gas when completed in September of 2022. Drilled depth was 20,295 feet while the true vertical depth was 10,126 feet in the Cherokee formation. The well had been spudded in August of last year according to the completion report.

Mewbourne also completed a well in adjacent Dewey County. The Krows 36/25 Oj 1hs, located at 1 17N 18W, or about 5 miles southwest of Taloga, produced 135 barrels of oil a day and 669 Mcf of natural gas. Its drilled depth into the Skinner formation was 16,995 feet while the true vertical depth was 9,049 feet. Completed in December 2022, the well had an October spudding.
