Showing its intent on fighting climate change, the Biden administration has joined a lawsuit by local Colorado governments against Suncor, the Canadian energy giant with a refinery near Denver.
The U.S. Department of Justice filed a legal brief and argued that the Colorado case against Suncor should be heard in state court reported The Guardian. The DOJ contends a state court would be more favorable than federal court for the plaintiffs who sued oil companies over climate change.
