STACK keeps yielding big oil producers

 

Blaine County, one of the three primary counties that makes up Oklahoma’s oil-rich STACK play, was the source of a strong producer for Marathon Oil Company.

The company filed a completion report on the Alta Bia 1511 3-31-30mxh, located at 19 15N 11W, 5 miles due south of Watonga. The well, completed in November 2022 at a depth of 22,280 feet, produced 1,248 barrels of oil a day and 13,344 Mcf of natural gas out of the Mississippi formation. The completion report showed a spudding in May of 2022. Its true vertical depth was 12,273 feet.

Blaine County also was the site of a Devon Energy well with production of 822 barrels of oil a day and 7,226 Mcf of natural gas. The Cheetah 29_32-15n-10w4hx, located at 20 15N 10W, or 8 miles southeast of Watonga was completed in November 2022 at a drilled depth of 21,730 feet. The completion report showed an April 2022 spudding. True vertical depth was 11,377 feet.
