Reforms are launched following ice storm power outages in Austin, Texas

 

After nearly 174,000 homes were left without power in Austin, Texas during the recent ice storm, the city has started making reforms of the municipally-operated Austin Energy.

What reforms? A streamlining of communications, stronger assessment of the extent of power outages and exploring the cost and timelines to put power lines underground according to the Austin Monitor.
