Rail merger decision expected soon from government

Canadian Pacific argues the rail merger will not impact competition, since it operates mostly in Canada and the upper Midwest while Kansas City Southern operates mostly in the South and in Mexico.

 

The Biden administration is set to come to a decision soon over the possible rail merger of Kansas City Southern, a railroad that travels through Eastern Oklahoma, with Canadian Pacific railway.

The Surface Transportation Board is set to come up with its final decision on the $27 billion merger, which if approved, would give the combination control of lines stretching from Canada to Mexico reported HuffPost.
