Heartland Flyer to Kansas? It’s being discussed in Kansas legislature

With potential funding from a massive federal infrastructure program, Kansas is as close as it has ever been to expanding the Heartland Flyer and making passenger train service to Oklahoma and beyond a reality.

 

The long-promoted idea of extending Amtrak’s Heartland Flyer from Oklahoma to Newton, Kansas is still alive and getting some interest in the Kansas legislature.

Why now? Because of billions in federal funding.
