Oklahoma Congressman Frank Lucas reached out to former staffers he once worked with and those who assisted retired U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, naming them to be senior staff on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee he chairs.
“We have a great team lined up to support our Committee’s work, and each one brings years of experience to the table. Their expertise will allow us to tackle the complex policy issues ahead of us, and we’re all eager to get to work on advancing America’s scientific, technological, and economic competitiveness,” he said in announcing the appointments.
The new staff director, Josh Mathis, worked with Lucas when the congressman was the ranking member of the Committee. He previously spent six years as Deputy Staff Director at House Agriculture Committee under then-Chairman Lucas.
Chief Counsel Jennie Wright spent nearly 10 years working for Sen. Inhofe and most recently was deputy General Counsel at the Senate Armed Services Committee where Inhofe was a member. She also served as counsel in both Senator Inhofe’s personal office and at the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
Wendi Price was appointed Director of Operations after joining the Committee in January. She previously was the Executive Assistant for Sen. Inhofe for 20 years and started her Capitol Hill career with Rep. Wes Watkins.
Mathis, Wright and Price were among several appointments announced this week.
