Environmentalists pressure BlackRock to eliminate fossil fuel investments

BlackRock Inc., the company that became the poster boy after it discriminated against investments in oil and gas firms, faced more pressure this past week from environmentalists to exit investments in fossil fuels.

BlackRock’s actions prompted the  Oklahoma legislature to adopt last year the Energy Discrimination Elimination Act.

During the financial conference where BlackRock Inc. President Robert Kapito was speaking, he was interrupted several times by questions on the company’s climate change responsibilities reported Reuters.
