Crude oil prices dropped more than 1% in Tuesday’s trading amidst a volatile session caused by concerns over global economic growth and not so much supply curbs. Oklahoma energy stocks suffered in the day’s trading.
West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery fell 18 cents or 0.2% to $76.6 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract for those deliveries expired on Tuesday.
Global benchmark Brent crude finished down 1.2% or $1.02 a barrel to $83.05 on ICE Futures Europe.
March natural gas fell 20 cents to $2.07 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Tuesday’s trading resulted in losses for many Oklahoma energy stocks. NGL Energy Partners tumbled 8% and Unit Corporation dropped nearly 7%. Vital Energy and SandRidge Energy fell nearly 4%.
