A strengthened dollar made crude more expensive for overseas buyers, thus causing crude oil prices on Thursday to settle lower.
West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 53 cents or 0.7% to $75.88 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude fell 67 cents or 0.8% to settle at $82.17 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
It was another weak day of trading for most Oklahoma energy stocks as more lost than gained. Gulfport Energy fell nearly 4% as did Mammoth Energy.
