House approves bill targeting Biden’s use of Strategic Petroleum Reserve

The stage is set for President Biden’s first rejection of a GOP-controlled House measure, one that targets his ability to use the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve for what Republicans say has been political purposes.

The House on Thursday voted 221-205 in support of legislation to restrict his ability to release oil from the U.S. emergency supply, a bill supported by every Oklahoma member of the House. President Biden swore earlier in the week to reject such a bill were it to be approved also by the Senate.
