While crude oil prices rose more than a dollar a barrel on Friday, Oklahoma energy stocks recorded a weak trading day.
For oil prices, it was the biggest weekly gain since October as West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery rose $1.47 or 1.9% to finish at $79.86 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It came as the U.S. dollar fell to a seven-month low.
Global benchmark Brent crude recorded a gain of $1.25 or 1.5% and finished at $85.28 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
February natural gas fell 28 cents to $3.42 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Friday was a weak day for Oklahoma energy stocks as nearly half recorded losses. The biggest gain of the day was a 3% increase for Alliance Resource Partners and about the same for Mammoth Energy.
