Continental Resources wrapped up its final public move since founder Harold Hamm acquired outstanding stock and returned the Oklahoma City company to private control in November 2022.

The firm made a 15-12G filing on Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing was a certification of termination of registration of a class of security under Section 12(g) or notice of suspension of duty to file reports with the SEC.

It was late November of last year when Hamm, the billionaire founder of the company acquired the outstanding public shares in a $4.3 billion agreement reached with the company’s board.

At the time, Hamm issued a letter to his employees, telling them, “Operating as a private company enhances our ability to do what we do best and unlocks endless possibilities.”
