Wednesday’s crude oil prices didn’t change much in trading, mostly because of a smaller-than-expected gain in U.S. crude inventories. It was also not a strong day in trading for Oklahoma energy stocks.
West Texas Intermediate crude rose 2 cents to $80.15 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude finished one one cent at $86.12 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
On Tuesday, Brent had dropped 2.3% and WTI futures fell 1.8%.
February natural gas fell 19 cents to $3.07 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks recorded a weak day in trading with Empire Petroleum gaining more than 4% while others had losses for the day including a 4% slide for Vital Petroleum, formerly traded as Laredo Petroleum.
