Weekend storms left thousands without power in Oklahoma

Severe weather, including lightning, strong wind gusts and heavy rain Saturday night caused power outages across the service area, with the majority of the impact in Durant and the Oklahoma City metro.  

Oklahoma Gas and Electric mobilized approximately 200 personnel to the areas to restore power as safely and as quickly as possible.    

As of 2 p.m. Sunday, there were approximately 800 customers without service, down from a peak of 11,000 overnight. The company anticipated full restoration by Sunday night.

Please stay safe and stay away from downed power lines and anything they are touching. Report downed power lines by calling 800-522-6870. Customer can also sign up for myOGEalerts to receive outage information by text, email, and/or phone or report outages by text.
