For a second straight day, crude oil prices dropped on Tuesday, falling 2% over apparent recession fears and renewed COVID-19 cases in China.
West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery dropped nearly 2% on a $1.78 a barrel slide to $89.35 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for December delivery took a $1.90 fall or nearly 2% to $94.29 in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
November natural gas rose 16 cents or 2.50% to $6.60 per 1,000 cubic feet.
More Oklahoma energy stocks suffered losses than made gains in Tuesday’s trading. Mammoth Energy recorded an 8% loss while the NGL Energy’s 3% gain was the largest of the day.
