Increased oil exports sent prices up along with OK energy stocks

Shale revolution has direct and indirect impacts on OPEC - Anas Alhajji

 

Record U.S. crude exports resulted in a 3% gain in crude oil prices on Wednesday and gains for Oklahoma energy stocks including one firm with a more than 11% increase.

The gains came after it was announced that U.S. refiners had operated at higher-than-usual levels for this time of year reported Reuters.

 West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery soared $2.59 a barrel or about 3% to settle at $87.91 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for December delivery rose nearly 3% or $2.17 to finish the day at $95.69 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

While wholesale gasoline slipped 2 cents and November heating  rose 15 cents, November natural gas was unchanged at $5.61 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Wednesday’s trading resulted in gains for most Oklahoma energy stocks. The biggest of the day was more than 11% for Helmerich & Payne while PHX Minerals had a more than 5% increase.
