As crude oil prices gained 1% on Wednesday, it also proved to be another strong day for Oklahoma energy stocks as some had 5% gains.
What prompted the oil price increase? It came after an international energy watchdog said it believes there will be an increase in gas-to-oil switching because of high prices this winter according to Reuters.
In the U.S., West Texas Intermediate crude for October delivery managed a gain of $1.17 to finish at $88.48 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for November delivery went up 93 cents and closed at $94.10 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
