After rising above $90 a barrel in Thursday’s trading, crude oil prices finally settled lower as traders worried about the recession and what possible OPEC+ output cuts next week might do to the economy.
Oklahoma energy stocks had a bad day as most recorded losses.
West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery fell 92 cents to finish at $81.23 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for November delivery finished down 83 cents at $88.49 on ICE Futures Europe.
November natural gas fell 9 cents to $6.87 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Most Oklahoma energy stocks suffered losses in Thursday’s trading with only a handful of firms recording weak gains for the day.
LSB Industries dropped 9% while Mammoth Energy fell 6% and ONE Gas lost 5%.
